A New York City murder suspect is arrested in Lancaster County. 32-year-old Jamel Hunter is wanted on Criminal Homicide charges after a November 30, 2012 shooting that left one person dead. New York City Police asked the U.S. Marshals Office to assist in locating Hunter. This morning Hunter’s red Chevrolet Trail Blazer was spotted in the Lincoln West Apartments off Columbia Avenue in West Hempfield Township.
Members of the Deputy U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force assisted by state and local police arrested Hunter just after 11 am when he left the apartment and was about to get into the SUV. Hunter was charged as being a Fugitive from Justice, arraigned and is being held without bail at Lancaster County Prison to await extradition back to New York City.
