A man is shot in the head outside of a fast-food chain in Harrisburg and now police are searching for two suspects. It happened around 2:15 p.m. in the parking lot of Popeye’s located along the 1900 block of North Cameron Street.

Police say Anthony Thompson, 30, of Harrisburg, had stopped at the restaurant to get his girlfriend some food when a vehicle pulled up next to him and began firing shots.

Thompson was hit in the back of the head by one of the rounds, but was not seriously injured, investigators said.

The suspects took off and a witness followed the shooter’s car to the 2400 block of Reel Street. Officers canvassed the area and found the suspect’s abandoned vehicle.

Meanwhile Thompson was driven to Harrisburg Hospital by a person who witnessed the shooting, police said. When detectives showed up at the emergency room to interview Thompson they saw him pass off a small box containing cocaine to his girlfriend.

After Thompson was treated and released from the hospital he was taken into custody on drug violations.

He was placed in Dauphin County Prison in lieu of bail.

Anyone with information related to the shooting should contact police at 717-255-3157 or 717-255-7298.
