An apartment house fire in Lebanon City is labeled “suspicious” by officials. It happened at around 11 o’clock Tuesday morning in the 10 hundred block of Cumberland Street. City Fire Commissioner Daune Trautman says the fire began in a first floor apartment. It was quickly brought under control by fire crews.
7 of the 12 units in the building were occupied. None of the residents were injured. Although fire damage was minimal Trautman says the building has been condemned as unfit for human habitation due to numerous code violations. The American Red Cross is providing emergency shelter for 10 adults and 8 children.
