Could college become a creature of the past? A recent article posted on linked-in suggests higher education does not equal a higher level of success.
The article was written by Ben Smith, the editor in chief of buzzfeed.com, a social news organization. He says half of his staff do not have college degrees. Adding the two quote “poster children” of this idea are Harvard dropouts, Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg.
Even the co-founder of PayPal is going against the tradition, by offering a $100 thousand dollar fellowship to any high school grad as long as they skip college.
Another issue is the cost. Tuition has jumped 70% since 1992 and there’s no quick fix to paying down student loan debt.
