NEW MOON AND CLEAR SKIES: Perfect night for viewing one of the most spectacular meteor showers of the year. It is the Geminid Meteor Shower. Head out around 10pm. Best viewing will be around 2am. It will be a ideal so grab a lawn chair and be sure to bundle up, most importantly, enjoy!
BRIGHT SUNSHINE: Friday will end with abundant sunshine thanks to high pressure, which slides to the southeast. Winds set up out of the west as a frontal boundary moves south from the north but doesn’t quite come into the area and warming us to near 50 degrees.
WEEKEND CHANGES: The next system approaches late Saturday. We’ll start out with sunshine but it will quickly diminish by afternoon as the clouds increase. Temperatures should climb to the upper 40s. Wet weather will be possible for the second half of the weekend and some of the shower activity could linger into early Monday.
TUESDAY – THURSDAY: A storm developing to our southwest will move to coast near VA on Tuesday. We will see some showers out of this system and it’s quite possible there could be a change to wet snow or a mix. Too many differences amongst the modeling to determine at this point exactly what will happen. Temperatures will be much colder but seasonal for December.
