A putrid substance forces a couple of road closures in York County Thursday night. It started at around 4 o’clock Thursday afternoon with reports of a foul-smelling, slippery substance coating Indian Rock Dam Road near Richland Avenue in Spring Garden Township.
A hazardous material team was called out to deal with the mess. About 3 hours later residents along the 100 block of East Broadway in Red Lion Borough reported what appeared to be the same substance on the roadway. Both roadways were closed to traffic while haz mat crews wait for a state expert to arrive to help determine if the substance is dangerous. The search continues for the source of the substance.
