High pressure will slide to our east tonight allowing a potent storm system to arrive tomorrow.  We stay dry with lighter winds under partly cloudy skies tonight.  Expect the lows to drop into the low 30s.

Tomorrow, the clouds will thicken quickly but the rain should hold off until after 5pm, at which time it will spread east, becoming more steady in the evening and overnight. The area is likely to see any where from a .50″ to 1.25″ of rainfall with isolated higher amounts. A strong cold front will sweep across the area by Friday morning and will be followed by a blast of colder air and gusty west northwest winds that will remain for a couple of days.  We could even see Lake Effect snow showers or flurries both Friday and Saturday.  Highs will be in the upper 30s but will feel much colder as brisk winds make it feel more like the 20s.

The deep upper level low should hang around for the weekend before lifting out and our flow becomes more zonal.  There are some hints at a quick moving system for Monday but right now kept it dry.  Trough digs in again mid week next week.  Next system arrives late Christmas Day bringing rain possibly mixing by Wednesday early as colder air wraps in.  Models still differ on timing as of today.  Highs each day will be close to the 40 degree mark.
