A gun show at the York Expo Center brought out thousands of people on Saturday, despite calls for stricter gun regulations after a mass shooting at an elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut.
Hundreds of people stood in line waiting to get into the York County Expo Center even before the doors opened at 9 a.m. The line continued throughout the day.
We were not allowed to go inside but did talk to people who braved the cold to wait in line. “This could be one of the last ones, we don’t know how this is going to go. I would guess that the government is going to do something. It may not be the right thing but at least they’re going to do something,” says gun Dealer Fred Bass.
The threat of government action is driving gun sales up across the country. “ It’s just been crazy I mean prices just went through the roof. A magazine that would cost you about $13 they’re going online for anywhere from $30 to $60. Just everybody’s trying to scramble,” says Steve Sworn of Mechanicsburg.
