A tip from an alert citizen lead to the arrest of 34-year-old Philip Langley, who was wanted for raping a 12-year-old girl. He was taken into custody on Sunday morning in Providence Township.

Langley is charged with Rape, Sexual Assault, Indecent Assault, Corruption of Minors and Unlawful Contact with a Minor.

Police are searching for a 34-year-old man who is accused of raping a child in Lancaster County. Investigators from the Southern Regional Police Department have obtained an arrest warrant for Phillip Lee Langley, of New Providence.

He is accused of sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl over the course of 6 months, police said. The incidents began in November 2011 and continued through May of 2012 at Langley’s former home in Conestoga Township.

Langley is described as a white male, about 5″11″, 210 pounds with brown eyes and hair. He has numerous tattoos including a teardrop underneath his left eye, police said.

He has been known to frequent Millersville , parts of southern Lancaster County and Maryland.

Langley is currently registered on the Megan’s Law database for previous offenses that occurred in Cecil County Maryland.
