A Dauphin County horse owner faces two counts of Cruelty to Animals, a summary offense.  Pennsylvania State Police in Jonestown filed charges Friday morning against 60 year old Janie Jeskey, of Grantville. Investigators say Jeskey wantonly or cruelly failed to properly feed two Thoroughbred horses, a mare and a gelding,

Police exercised a search warrant and seized the two horses from Jeskey’s property in the 200 block of Bow Creek Road on December 19, 2012. Both horses were taken to the Horseshoe Valley Equine Center in Annville for further examination and hospitalization.  They were later transferred to the Happy Trails Holistic Rescue Rehabilitation and Sanctuary in Northumberland County for further care and treatment.  Both horses are expected to recover.
