Police say a Franklin County man was driving drunk in an early morning crash that killed a Shippensburg woman. Investigators say 27-year-old Agustin Macias-Marquez, of Waynesboro, was behind the wheel his vehicle slammed into another vehicle driven by 30-year-old Nicholas Fortenberry, Shippensburg. It happened at around 12:18 Monday morning at the intersection of Cleveland Avenue and East McKinley Street in Chambersburg Borough.
25-year-old Heather Coble, a passenger in Fortenberry’s vehicle, was pronounced dead at Chambersburg Hospital. Fortenberry and another passenger, Madison Perry, of Shippensburg, were flown to York Trauma Center with serious injuries. Macias-Marquez, was treated and released from Chambersburg Hospital.
Charges against Macias-Marquez, include Homicide by Vehicle, Homicide by Vehicle While DUI, 2 counts of Aggravated Assault While DUI and related traffic offenses. He was arraigned Monday afternoon and sent to Franklin County Prison in lieu of $350,000 bail. Chambersburg Borough Police say their investigation into the crash continues.
