The New Year means lights out for 75-watt light bulbs.  Beginning today.. under federal law, 75-watt incandescent bulbs can no longer be produced or imported.  Retailers can still sell existing stock until they run out.  The government is gradually phasing out incandescent bulbs in favor of more energy-efficient bulbs. 100-watt incandescent bulbs were retired last year.  Traditional 60 and 40-watt bulbs will be phased out next year.
