The NCAA today responded to Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett’s announcement that he is planning to sue the Association for its handling of the Penn State sanctions. The following is a statement from Donald M. Remy, NCAA Executive Vice President and General Counsel:
“We are disappointed by the Governor’s action today. Not only does this forthcoming lawsuit appear to be without merit, it is an affront to all of the victims in this tragedy – lives that were destroyed by the criminal actions of Jerry Sandusky. While the innocence that was stolen can never be restored, Penn State has accepted the consequences for its role and the role of its employees and is moving forward. Today’s announcement by the Governor is a setback to the University’s efforts.”

As Attorney General, Tom Corbett received over $647,000 in campaign contributions from members of the Second Mile Foundation, while only assigning one investigator to Jerry Sandusky's case.
Am I seriously the only person in PA who smells a rat?
And shame on all of you Penn State fans for acting like a bunch of brainwashed cult followers. Get over it. There's always PITT.

NCAA thinks that everyone has to accept their decision and move on, Go Colbert and protect the peoples money and not the enrichment of the NCAA. Taking the sanction money out of PA show that the sanctions were not imposed to compensate the students affected. NCAA sucks.

Did you mean to say Corbett, or is this an ingenious plot by me, Stephen Colbert, to use auto-correct to put my name in for every "Co…" word?

Punish the criminals for the crime committed, not the students that are presently at PSU, they have nothing to do with the horrific crime and are paying the price.

I am cut down the middle with this one. I don't think that NCAA should have set the punishments they did. The players did NOTHING to deserve what they got handed to them. The teachers and the directors are the ones who did nothing but stand by and let Jerry Sandusky repeatedly hurt other innocent boys, so I think that punishing the players is wrong. I think they should be overturned so the healing for the boys that did nothing wrong can hold their heads high. They showed everyone that they still are a team to be reckoned with even though they couldn't go to a bowl game.
I believe that Corbett should have done more when he knew what was being done to those boys. I believe he should receive some type of punishment for letting it continue and not protecting the boys in Sandusky's care.
My son goes to Penn State and loves going there. It is not everyone at the college that is bad only a handful kept it under wraps. We will continue to support Penn State.

The NCAA said it themselves "the criminal actions of Jerry Sandusky", not Penn State

You fans love to display your admiration and support for an "institution". You revel in the victories and the history of the Institution but when it comes time to be held accountable as an institution, all bets are off. Love your hypocracy.
