Family, friends and fans of the late President Richard Nixon gathered in California to commemorate what would have been his 100th birthday.
Hundreds came together for the event at the Official Nixon Library on Sunday.
Those who remember him say he had a passion for world affairs and that his ideas could be useful today, Nixon’s daughter Tricia Nixon Cox said, “I think he would look at countries in the world and try to find ways to create more positive interaction between countries. I think he would have ideas of where we could head and make everything better.”
Nixon was the only American president to resign from office, leaving the White House because of the Watergate controversy.
Sunday’s event was held three days ahead of Nixon’s actual birthday, January 9th.
He died in 1994 at the age of 81.
