Out of the Office This Week: Mother Nature

JANUARY CONFUSION:  Mother Nature has clearly forgotten what season it is in Pennsylvania, or at least has taken a vacation elsewhere.  Good news for the cold weather haters, but bad news for skiers!   High pressure and southerly flow will bring warm air to the commonwealth all week long.  It looks as if the Farm Show snow storm for 2013 will be tabled for the year!

Today, expect diminishing wind through the day.  Highs will hit the low 40s under plenty of sunshine.  Overnight, with light winds, temps will fall into the mid and low 20s for lows.

Tuesday we’re enjoying more sun with highs in the mid-40s.  Wednesday, we add some clouds as a wave of energy passes by from our north.  Not much with this one, but it should bring some clouds.  Highs will be in the mid 40s.

RAIN RETURNS:  The southern branch of the jet stream will bring a chunk of energy toward Pennsylvania late on Thursday.  This system will have more oomph to it, so we expect the clouds to roll in through the day, with rain starting in the evening.  Showers continue overnight and into the first chunk of the day Friday.  Highs Thursday and Friday will still top out in the middle 40s.

SERIOUSLY?:  The weekend is filled with 50s.  Seriously?  Yeah, we’re talking very warm weather for the weekend.  Saturday looks dry, but Sunday could feature rain as another system slides in from the south.  More to come!

Have a great start to your week!
