Police say they have foiled a 17 year old’s plot to attack his Alabama high school. Derek Shrout, a
self-proclaimed white supremacist, was arrested after a teacher discovered he had outlined plans for terrorist-type attacks in a notebook. Officers say they searched Shrout’s home and found dozens of tobacco containers filled with shrapnel and holes drilled for fuses. Authorities believe Shrout planned to use the devices as grenades. He is facing felony attempted assault charges and will be charged as an adult.

What is wrong with kids these days? What ever happened to kids doing positive things to get noticed? Now they think that the only way they can be remembered is by doing horrible things like this, but people remember the victims not the idiots that do this.

Unfortunately, I think it's the parents. The way the kids are being raised. Too many are left to themselves, usually with money and no direction. So sad.

A great big THANK YOU to the Teacher who found his note book .
We need more Teachers that take interest in what their students are thinking .

You mean we shouldn't raise our children with a DVD player, Xbox and the internet instead of sitting down and playing with them??? I have two boys who want nothing more than to sit and play LEGO' s with the old man!!! They also understand the meaning of no and say please and thank you. I agree with you Dana too many parents today desensitize their children by allowing them to watch age inappropriate shows and have no responsibility for their actions. Maybe when this happens again they should prosecute the parents as well.
