People living in a neighborhood in Norfolk, Virginia called police to report seeing a baby lion on the loose. Officers checked with the local zoo to see if any big cat was missing. Turns out, the ‘lion’ is really a large dog. It’s a Labradoodle which its owner had it shaved to look like a lion. It has a lion’s mane and a fluffy tail. Daniel Painter owns Charles the Monach and says he wanted his pet to look like Old Dominion University’s mascot. Painter says this isn’t the first time someone has mistaken his dog for a lion.

I thought lions did not get their manes until the males are closer to adult size?…but I guess seeing it quick like that, they didn't have much time to think it through.
