The “Learn to Play” program has allowed the Dauphin County area to form its first ever all girls hockey team.

The program donates free equipment and ice time for girls to try out the sport, it had so much of a postive response, the first girls team was formed this season and they are all under 10-years-old.

The girls face boys and co-ed teams throughout the year and the only time they face other girl teams is when they play in tournaments around the tri-state area.

These pint-sized players say it took some adjusting to get use to wearing the gear and skating on the ice but now they intend to play for as long as they can.
