Lancaster Mayor J. Richard Gray and other Lancaster area leaders are calling on the President and members of Congress to take immediate steps to end gun violence on the one month anniversary of the Newtown tragedy. Mayors Against Illegal Guns is hosting similar events across the country to mark the one-month anniversary of Newtown and to release a new national ad that features the family members of gun violence victims. The ad calls for criminal background checks for anyone purchasing a firearm, getting high capacity weapons and ammunition magazines off the streets and making gun trafficking a federal crime.

Wake up, weenies. This will NOT get one single illegal gun out of the ghetto. The ghetto is your problem. I, for one refuse to take my eye off the ball. Stolen weapons, filed serial numbers, waifs with illegal guns. THAT is the problem! Photo ops are slick but, you will never solve the problem that way.
