Man huffing in Walmart restroom resists arrest, gets tased

Kipp Ordean Wentz

West Manheim Township Police say a man locked himself in a stall at the Walmart on Baltimore Pike and started huffing dust remover Saturday afternoon.

Walmart employees called 911 after noticing a strong chemical odor emanating from the rear of the store. The odor was so strong it burned their eyes and throats.

When they checked the men’s restroom, they found Kipp Ordean Wentz, 31, of Glenville, locked in a stall inhaling two cans of dust remover he’d stolen from the store. Wentz refused to open the stall door for police. When the responding officer, Gregory Seibert, kicked in the door, Wentz fought with him. Seibert’s badge was bent and torn from his uniform. His glasses were also damaged in the fracas. Siebert tased Wentz and managed to handcuff him.

Wentz is charged with aggravated assault of a police officer, resisting arrest, retail theft, disorderly conduct, public drunkenness and illegal use of solvents and noxious substances. He is in county prison on $50,000 bail.
