
Tweeting may help you battle the bulge. A six month study of overweight and obese people found that twitter improved their chances of shedding pounds. Those in the study were divided into two groups. One got nutritional, exercise and goal setting podcasts each week for three months. The other group got the same information and followed each other on twitter. Both groups lost just under 3% of their weight after six months, but those using twitter had an easier time losing it. Researchers estimated that every 10 twitter posts equaled about a half percent weight loss.
