As an area of low pressure rides along a frontal boundary to our south, it has allowed showers to move in tonight. Most of the wet weather is falling as rain but as temps fall, some of the rain could mix in the higher elevations but most of the area will see rain. Temperatures will drop into the low 30s overnight.
For Tuesday:
A few showers may linger very early during the commute mainly in our southern counties, otherwise, clouds will be prevalent for much of the area. Winds will be light and highs will be chillier in the upper 30s to near 40. Clouds will thicken in the afternoon as another wave of low pressure rides in along a stalled boundary to our south. It will push precip into the area. There are some indications it could mix along the turnpike and further north change to snow for a period. We could see a light coating up to 3 inches across Mifflin and Juniata Counties. Elsewhere, surface is pretty warm and with a good chance of mixing, any accumulations would be coating to nothing. The heaviest rain will fall in the southern counties of the Lower Susquehanna.
Wednesday
Rain or snow showers should be ending. Clouds will decrease and by afternoon we will see more sunshine. Once the sun comes out, highs will be able to get to the low 40s after starting in the 30s.
Thursday and Friday
It will be chilly but dry with highs in the upper 30s.
Weekend Outlook
Temperatures moderate by the weekend. Weather should remain dry. Arctic air will plunge into the area next Monday bringing much colder air to the area.
