Weather permitting, a new traffic pattern for southbound I-81 will take place during the overnight hours on Friday, Jan. 19. The existing two lanes of southbound traffic across the southbound side of the George N. Wade Memorial Bridge will be shifted from the left to the right. This will allow space for the contractor to work on the left portion of the southbound side of the bridge. Construction barrels will separate the two areas at first, but the barrels will be replaced by concrete barrier over the next several days to separate the work zone from live traffic. There will be no changes to the existing southbound express lanes.
