Schirmer Takes the Stand

It was a day many were waiting for in the trial of the former Lebanon County pastor, Arthur Schirmer, as he finally took the stand in his own defense.  Schirmer is accused of beating his wife, Betty, in 2008 then staging a car wreck to make her death look like an accident.  The former pastor told a jury that it was a car crash that killed Betty, that he swerved to miss a deer and hit a guard rail. Schirmer also faces trial in Lebanon County for the death of his first wife, Jewel, back in 1999.
