Philadelphia police have arrested a man they say brutally attacked a woman on a subway platform, and then threw her onto the tracks. SEPTA police released surveillance video that shows a woman waiting for a train. A man approaches her, apparently asked for a lighter, then lunges at her, beating her and then dragging her by the ankles off the bench, and throwing her onto the tracks.

The man then picked up the woman’s cell phone and walked away.
The woman was able to climb back onto the platform before a train came, she suffered bumps and bruises.

On Thursday, SEPTA police released the video and and a photo of the man, he was spotted by police later that day.
