Cabela’s backs out of Eastern Sports and Outdoors Show

Add Cabela’s to the list of vendors pulling out of the Eastern Sports and Outdoors Show. The company announced on their Facebook page this afternoon that they would no longer be participating. The statement reads:

“Due to recent changes made by Reed Exhibitions regarding the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show, Cabela’s will no longer sponsor this year’s event. After careful consideration regarding Cabela’s business practices, and the feelings of our customers, Cabela’s will, unfortunately, not have a presence at the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show.”

Thank you Cabelas. My family and friends are going to cancel our annual trip to the outdoor show and spend the day shopping at your store in Hamburg, PA. See you soon!

Way to go! The PA Eastern Show caved to crap and glad to see this – I know I am an avid outdoor gal and guess what – I AM NOT GOING EITHER!! Maybe we'll go to Cabela's instead!

Thank u Cabela's for standing up for the 2nd Amendment in the face of insane political correctness. I hope a lot of people boycott the idiots that are the eastern sports and outdoors show!!!

Thank you Cabelas for standing up for The Bill of Rights. Whether its the 2nd amendment or 1st etc… This fight is bigger than any one person or party it’s the whole country as whole that looses when emotional, political sensitivity trumps common sense and the very fabric our country was founded on.

That's right! Hit 'em where it hurts the most… in the pocket book! BTW, just in cast most of you are unaware of the hypocrisy going on here & the b.s. political pandering going on, here's a little tidbit of information that you might find interesting…

I am all for boycotting but isnt this going to going to end up hurting all the small guides and outfitters there who depend on the show to a lot of their bookings?

In reality Cabelas is standing up for them too. The sports show is not the only way to book a hunt. But without the 2nd amendment they are toast !!

Let's face it, Cabelas is the big boy and the powerhouse company in the industry. If they are willing to stick their neck out for all of us outdoor enthusist then we owe it to them and all of the smaller guys supporting the withdraw from the ESOE our business. The economy is tuff as we all know but we owe it to Cabelas and those smll businesses to make sacrifices. Give them your business even if you weren't planning on purchasing anything in the near future. Go to those businesses during the dates of the ESOE and make a purchase because that is when these businesses suffer in sales the most. We can't let the idiot's divide and conquor us and that is their goal. Divided we fail together we win. THANK YOU CABELAS FOR BEING THE BIG BOY STANDING WITH US. YOU ARE TRUELY A WINNER !!!!!!!!

Sean, Your concern is a valid one. What we all must remember is the importance of standing together thru this time. Today it's assult weapons but tomorrow it very well could be paid hunts. You've seen the progress of PEDA and other groups of it's kind. The other concern is again it's assult weapons today but tomorrow it very well could be hunting weapons. WHere will it stop! The hunting guides as well as all of the other vendors must support us in this fight. The vendors can't just look at their own reason to attend the ESOE. Their particular sport or reason for attending could very well be affected tomorrow. The vendors supporting this withdraw must find other ways to promote their product. It cost thousands of dollars to have a booth at the show. Use those dollars in a different wiser way to promote their product. In this day of marketing and communitations there are unlimited resources to successfully promote your products. All they need to do is seek those businesses out that can help them. In my closing all I can say is BRAVO TO CABELAS AND ALL OF THE SMALLER BUSINESSES SUPPORTING THIS CAUSE.

Thanks a bunch Cabela's for helping defend our 2nd amendment rights. It takes leaders to get the ball rolling and you just started an avalanche for a lot of us enthusiastic followers. I love the Journey to your store in Hamburg and will now make that trip a lot more often. UNLESS The political nightmare spills over to Gas rationing which is a highly likely thing based on the way we are headed. Our "Bill of Rights" and "WE the People's" Constitution need defended more now thanever before. Thanks again Cabela's"You Rock"

Thank you Backwoods Whitetails Outfitters for making this sacrifice in support of all Americans fighting this battle. To all of those people reading these comments, these are the businesses that we all must support. These guys care what is happening and want to do the right thing! It's important for everyone to understand that these are the small guys making huge sacrifices for all of us. Support them any way possible.
