Mission Demands Increase With Colder Weather

missionAs the weather continues to get colder, local missions are seeing an increase in the number of people who need shelter.

The Bethesda Mission says they will not turn anyone away and are preparing to provide mats for those who need a place to stay.

Bethesda Mission Executive Director Chuck Wingate says business has really jumped in the past couple of days.

The temperatures have brought people in from the street who ordinarily wouldn’t come in.

They had 91 people on Monday night and were expecting close to 100 people on Tuesday night. The Mission says they are still accepting donations because they will be spending more money on heating bills this month.
