A special night for two lucky families in York County as they got the keys to their brand new homes. York Habitat for Humanity, along with the York County Commissioners and the Neighborhood Stabilization Program rehabilitated two homes on West Poplar Street in York. The Shabazz and Gentle families, both headed by single moms, couldn’t be more excited about their new homes. Muneerah Shabazz says, “It’s amazing, like the home is just beautiful. They’ve incorporated so much of what I wanted into the home and just to be able to give something to me and my children and my family, all of my family to be able to come and it’s amazing.” More than 100 volunteers from all over York County helped make this possible for these families.
