Skies remain partly to mostly clear through the overnight, with lows remaining below seasonal averages.  Expect readings in the teens once more.

SUNDAY-MONDAY

Sunday will be quiet, with high pressure starting off the day on a sunny note.  Clouds build ahead of an approaching warm front.  Highs continue to creep upward, reaching near 30 degrees.  Some tricky weather is in store for Monday morning.  Some flurries are possible near daybreak, but the aforementioned warm front pulls in warm air aloft quickly during the morning, with temperatures at the surface still below zero.  This means any precipitation that falls will be in the form of a wintry mix, mainly freezing rain.  This will make for an icy commute.  Temperatures slowly rise into the afternoon, meaning a transition to a cold rain takes place.  The transition to rain will be slower in our northern counties.  Highs will be near 35 degrees.

MIDWEEK WARMUP

Once the warm front clears the central Pennsylvania, temperatures soar ahead of a cold front.  Tuesday’s highs will be in the 50s, with partly to mostly cloudy skies.  By Wednesday, the cold front passes through the area, bringing rain into the forecast.  Highs will be near the 50 degree mark.

END OF WEEK

A cool down comes behind the front, with temperatures dropping through the day on Thursday.  Some lake effect snow showers are possible with northwesterly winds rushing in the colder air.  Friday a weak disturbance passing to our south could bring some flurries to the area.  Highs will be in the upper 20s.  Saturday, some sunshine returns with highs near 30 degrees.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
