NWS issues Winter Weather Advisory for most of Central Pa. beginning Monday

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN STATE COLLEGE HAS ISSUED A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY FOR A MIX OF SNOW AND SLEET CHANGING TO FREEZING RAIN WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 4 AM TO 3 PM EST MONDAY.

* TIMING…PREDAWN HOURS MONDAY THROUGH EARLY MONDAY AFTERNOON.

* IMPACTS…SNOW COVERED AND SLUSHY ROADS…WITH A LIGHT ACCUMULATION OF ICE ON OUTDOOR OBJECTS AND UNTREATED ROAD SURFACES AND WALKWAYS.

* TEMPERATURES…WARMING TO ABOVE FREEZING MONDAY AFTERNOON.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY MEANS THAT PERIODS OF SNOW…SLEET…OR FREEZING RAIN WILL CAUSE TRAVEL DIFFICULTIES.

BE PREPARED FOR SLIPPERY ROADS AND LIMITED VISIBILITIES…AND USE CAUTION WHILE DRIVING.
