Ingredient Dispute

A controversial ingredient being removed from the popular sports drink, Gatorade.  This all stems from a petition started by a teenager in Mississippi who noticed the ingredient brominated vegetable oil is actually patented as a flame retardant.  The company says the ingredient is used to distribute the flavoring evenly, so it doesn’t collect at the surface.  Despite making the change, Pepsi says the ingredient is safe and will still be used in other drinks like Mountain Dew.
