Verizon Wireless paid a visit to McCaskey High School in Lancaster today to kick off a new educational program in which 36 students will work in small teams, competing to develop apps.

Verizon and Samsung have partnered to provide Galaxy Tabs and free Verizon service to the students. Prizes for winning teams include scholarships, new Galaxy Tabs, and internships.

The program runs through April.
