FLOOD WATCH and WIND ADVISORY IN EFFECT

A big transition heads our way from the very mild back to the freeze.  A very strong cold front will plow through the area tonight.  Ahead of the front is a line of steady light to moderate rain.  It may be heavy at times.  Once the front gets here after 10pm tonight, the winds will really strengthen and may gust to 40mph towards morning.  Rainfall amounts well over an inch are possible.  If you live near an area susceptible to flooding, keep an eye on things.

BACK TO THE FREEZE

Following the front on Thursday, a cold and brisk northwest flow sets back up bringing below normal temperatures through the end of the week.  Highs will take place after midnight in the 50s but temperatures will rapidly fall through the afternoon.  Temperatures will be in the 30s but feel more like the teens and 20s with the strong cold winds.   A weak disturbance diving to our south Thursday night may produce a few light snow flurries or light snow showers.

It will be cold and breezy for Friday with partly sunny skies and highs only climb to the upper 20s to around 30.

COLD BUT CALMER

High pressure builds in by Saturday calming the winds.  Temperatures will come up some but still run a tad below normal in the low 30s.

A weak upper level disturbance will bring clouds and possible light snow showers overnight Saturday into Sunday before high pressure builds back in.

A zonal like pattern sets up and should help to bring in somewhat milder air early next week.  There could be a strong clipper system rotating through around early Tuesday producing a few light snow showers.  Highs will be in the upper 30s both.
