….A WIND ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT UNTIL NOON TODAY FOR WINDS…..

RETURN OF THE COLD:  The rain has ended across the region after dumping 1-2” area wide with locally heavier pockets.  A few creeks and streams will rise through the morning and afternoon hours before cresting later today.  No rivers are expected to go beyond minor flooding across the viewing area.

ACCRAIN

Now, the after effects come which include much colder air!  Strong westerly winds will usher in the cold air this morning.  We’ll begin with mostly cloudy skies and temperatures dropping through the 40s.  Winds will be strong, out of the west at 15-25mph, gusting in to the 30mph range.  Secure the garbage cans and outside objects if you haven’t yet.

By afternoon, we’re into the 30s as cold air is shoved into the Midstate.  We’ll see some sunshine, but it’s still very windy.  A few flakes may fly in a couple spots too.  It will feel much colder than the thermometer reads today.

Tonight, a quick moving disturbance slips to our south.  We’re mostly cloudy, breezy, and may see a few flakes or a snow shower in spots.  Lows will be in the middle 20s

INTO THE WEEKEND:  Friday is cold and breezy with mainly cloudy skies.  Flurries are possible too.  Highs will be held in the 30s.

Saturday and Sunday may feature a shot at some light snow showers from time to time as ripples ride along the jet stream.  We’re not expecting much here but do expect some flakes.  Highs will be in the low 30s Saturday and middle 30s Sunday.

NEXT WEEK:  The ripples keep coming.  Monday looks mainly cloudy with highs in the upper 30s.  Another ripple arrives with some snow showers for Tuesday, highs in the upper 30s too.  Wednesday, we see more sunshine with highs again in the mid 30s.

Have a great day.  Stay warm.  And remember, if you see a flooded roadway, don’t drive through it.  “Turn Around, Don’t Drown”
