Dover Township Issues Boil Water Advisory

A boil water advisory is in effect until further notice in Dover Township, York County.  The problem began at around 3:30 Monday afternoon when a contracting crew doing sewer work severed a natural gas line near a mobile home park in the 2200 block of Pine Road.  Sometime between 5 pm and 7 pm a water main  broke forcing Township officials to shut off water service in the area of Pine Road, Park Street, Prospect Avenue, Grandview Avenue, Sherwood Lane, High Street and Royal Avenue.

Also affect are homes and businesses in the 2800 and 2900 block of Carlisle Road, Route 74.   The Township says the problem may not be resolved until sometime on Tuesday. A Columbia Gas spokesman says natural gas service will not be restored until the water main break is repaired.  Township residents living in homes without water and need to relocate should call the American Red Cross at 843-0818.
