A man faces burglary charges after an armed Franklin County homeowner chased him from the scene of a break-in early Monday morning. State police were called out to the 100 block of West Main Street in Greene Township around 3 a.m. for an active burglary.
The homeowner told troopers he heard a noise, grabbed a gun and told his wife and two children to lock themselves in an upstairs bedroom. A short distance away, investigators found Thomas David Strode, of Chambersburg, hiding behind Steely Meats half-naked and bleeding from his arm. Troopers say he was intoxicated and under the influence of drugs.
Strode was arrested and charged with burglary, reckless endangerment, harassment and disorderly conduct.
