The first steps were taken on Monday night at a public meeting to get a school district back on track. The goal of these meetings is develop an academic and recovery plan for the York City School District.

The chief recovery officer also listened to the suggestions and the concerns from the community.

Under the state law, the district is considered a distressed school and a plan needs to be put in place by this spring to make some changes.
