QUICK SHOTS:  I hope you had a pleasant weekend!  We’re in a pretty active pattern.  The jet stream is positioned over us which acts as roadway for energy aloft and storm systems.  On the one side, we’ll see several systems move through over the next few days.  On the other side, they will be fast movers that don’t have the chance to develop into much.

So for your Monday, it’s a cold start with temps near 20° to get you out the door.  Sunshine will give way to cloud cover through the morning.  Highs will top out in the upper 20s.  Then, our first system slides in this evening.  Light snow is possible in some spots for the drive home; however, most of the snow holds off until the evening hours.  It lasts overnight before tapering in the pre-dawn hours Tuesday.  There’s limited moisture with this system, so we’re painting a 0.5”-1.5” of snow by daybreak.  Enough to make things slippery.

Then, we keep most of the clouds for Tuesday with highs in the low to middle 30s.  System number two slides in late Tuesday into early Wednesday.  This one will again bring light snow showers to us.  It looks to have less moisture than the first, so accumulations right now look a bit lower than tonight’s system.

SHORT BREAK:  We clear for Wednesday and early Thursday as weak high pressure slips in and out.  Highs will be in the mid to upper 30s with a good deal of sunshine.  This will allow the atmosphere to re-energize for Friday’s system.

Expect the chance for rain or snow or a mix on Friday.  The models are having trouble modeling the final outcome, but as of now it looks like we could see the precip begin around midnight Friday lasting through midday Friday.  All modes of winter weather are possible with this one, but timing and strength need to be hammered out in the days ahead.  Stay tuned

WEEKEND PREVIEW:  High pressure builds for the weekend.  We look ahead to sunshine and temps in the 40s.  Another system is pegged for Monday in next week.

Here’s to a marvelous
