PA House Democrats issued the following statement on Governor Corbett’s proposed budget:
Today in Harrisburg Gov. Tom Corbett announced his 2013-14 budget proposal. After two years of putting Pennsylvania’s working families last in favor of payouts to out-of-state corporations and two years of deep cuts to schools and human services that led to the loss of tens of thousands of good-paying jobs, House Democrats are urging common-sense proposals to turn Pennsylvania around.
House Democrats are leading the fight to, among other issues:
- Properly fund schools – giving our students the tools they need to succeed and preventing local property tax hikes;
- Fix road and bridges – creating good-paying jobs, improving public safety and helping grow our economy for years to come;
- End corporate handouts – protecting Pennsylvania small businesses by closing tax loopholes and lowering the Corporate Net Income Tax.
