FLURRY:  As with most clipper systems, they struggle with moisture which means snow is usually limited.  The clipper system overnight was a bit of a dud for most.  Some spots in the northern part of our area were able to pick up about a dusting to a half inch per radar estimates.  This system is gone and we await the next, which looks to fizzle out as it approaches as well.  So, we’re left with a flurry or two in the forecast this evening.

For today, expect mainly cloudy skies with intervals of sunshine.  We’ll hit the middle 30s for highs with light winds.  By evening the clipper moves toward us.  It’ll reinforce the clouds but snow looks limited to a few flurries.  Little to no accumulation is anticipated.  Overnight we’re cold and mainly cloudy with temps dipping to the middle 20s.

MIDWEEK SUN:  High pressure builds in briefly for midweek.  We’re seasonably cold and dry on Wednesday, with a high near 38°.  Thursday, the sun will be blocked by some clouds which arrive late.  Highs are in the middle 30s as some cooler air slips along the Appalachians.

FRIDAY SYSTEM:  Models are depicting a storm system to arrive overnight Thursday into early Friday.  It looks like it could start as snow before switching to rain and then tapering Friday afternoon.  Right now, there is a good deal of disagreement between models on intensity and positioning of the low as it moves into the Northeast.  This keeps uncertainly on timing and precip type in our forecast.  Be ready for rain/snow/sleet of Friday.

WEEKEND +: We look sunny and a bit chilled on Saturday.  Highs are in the upper 30s.  Sunday, we’ll see a few more clouds, but otherwise it looks dry and milder.  Highs are in the low 40s.  Monday we’ll see some rain with highs in the upper 40s.

Have a great Tuesday!
