Harley-Davidson’s Tour Center at York Vehicle Operations received a national award from the Guest Relations Association in recognition of the launch of the Steel Toe Tour experience.
More than 3,200 people participated in Harley-Davidson’s Steel Toe Tour since its launch in February 2012. “For many years our customers have requested a tour that gets them closer to the action and enables them to see more on the factory floor. I am so pleased that we have been able to develop this one-of-a kind experience for our customers,” said Amy Warner, manager of factory tour operations.
The exclusive tour is designed for visitors who desire a more personalized and in-depth tour experience. The two-hour fee-based tour includes many areas of the factory not included on the free tour, plus a high-visibility vest, an exclusive pin, a group photo in the factory and a coupon for the gift shop. “The steel toe tour was awesome. We had taken the regular tour twice in the past, but felt this tour exceeded those,” said a recent visitor following their tour.

The Guest Relations Association is a networking organization of companies and organizations that offer factory tour or visitor center experiences. The award was presented at the Association’s annual conference.
