On Tuesday, Ephrata Police were called to the Wal-Mart on the 800 block of East Main Street for a fraud currently in progress. Police arrested four suspects at the store and after further investigation, unveiled an elaborate scam.

Police are still investigating but several of the suspects admitted to using stolen credit cards to purchase items in Lancaster, York, Lehigh, Berks and Montgomery Counties. The stolen information was used to make purchases online at Walmart.com and the items purchased would be sent to a local store for pick-up.

Four people arrested for elaborate fraud scheme

The suspects would list themselves as an alternate pick-up person and collect the items at the store. Most of the victims did not notice the fraudulent transactions until days or weeks had passed.

Arrested were 43-year old Nona Stern, 24-year old Daniel Obuamah, 26-year old Frank Pollux and 56-year old Vincent Mapp, all of Reading. They face charges of Access Device Fraud and Theft by Deception. Mapp also had cocaine in his possession and faces additional charges of Possession.

All four are currently in Lancaster County Prison.
