Police in Southern York County are investigating the theft of a charity jar from the Rutter’s Farm Store in New Freedom. On January 23rd, at around 9:45 p.m., a man entered the store, distracted the clerk and took the donation jar from the counter.
The charity proceeds send Valentine’s Day care packages to local troops stationed abroad. The suspect, a middle aged white man, returned two packs of cigarettes to distract the clerk, then placed the jar under his jacket and left the store.
Southern Regional Police ask anyone that recognizes the suspect to contact them at 717-235-3944.
