2013 Army Heritage Days canceled due to budget constraints

The U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center team is announcing the cancellation of the 2013 Army Heritage Days.  USAHEC’s most popular annual event, scheduled this year for the 18th and 19th of May, regularly attracted over 10,000 visitors.  Budgetary restrictions in the Department of Defense and the Department of the Army have forced constraints on events and outreach activities.  The USAHEC team is grateful for all of the support the public shows, and we are excited to start planning for the 2014 Army Heritage Days soon.

USAHEC will continue with planning for other smaller events, and the team encourages everyone to check our website often.  Lectures, workshops, and living historian meet-and-greets are just some of this summer’s planned activities.  USAHEC also features the Army Heritage Trail, a one mile path with numerous macro-exhibits representing every era of U.S. Army history.  Inside, “The Soldier Experience” gallery rounds off a series of exhibits complete with a tank from World War I!  As always, Café Cumberland and the Army Heritage Center Foundation Museum Store are available, as well.
