A Freezing Rain Advisory has been issued for  Central Pennsylvania, beginning at 11 P.M. this evening and ending at 9 A.M. Monday.  Through the overnight, clouds will increase, and a warm flow will keep the upper levels of the atmosphere warm, but temperatures down here at the surface will still dip near or below freezing through the overnight.  As our next weather system approaches tonight, this means any precipitation that falls will be in the form of freezing rain.  The precipitation will be light to start, so any freezing rain is expected to be light and spotty.  Accumulations will range from a spotty glaze up to a tenth of an inch.  The brunt of the accumulations will be in the northwestern parts of the area, with spotty icing to none at all along the southeastern portions.  Expect any freezing rain to start after 1 A.M., and by daybreak the threat should be gone and a transition to rain will have taken place.

EARLY WEEK

Rain showers Monday morning will fade during the afternoon hours, with some sunshine peeking in, especially in the western parts of our area.  Highs will be in the middle to upper 40s, but late day sunshine could boost some locations to 50 degrees.  Tuesday will be a quiet day, with a mixture of sunshine and clouds.  Highs will be in the lower to middle 40s.  Wednesday will be a mainly dry day with mostly cloudy skies across the area.  Computer models are still having issues with tracking a coastal storm overnight Wednesday, but at this point, it looks like some light snow at best if it tracks close enough to us.

END OF WEEK

Thursday looks to be a calm day with a mixture of clouds and sunshine, with highs in the lower 40s.  The weather models are hinting at the possibility of yet another coastal storm for the weekend, and with solutions all over the place with both timing and impact, it is way too early to make any calls at this point, and to do so would be like throwing darts blindfolded.  Right now, it’s just something to keep in the back of your mind.  It will be a mainly cloudy and colder period regardless of whether this come to fruition, with highs dipping back into the lower 30s Saturday and even upper 20s by Sunday.

Have a great week!
