They came into their league tournaments the heavy favorites for a reason. After cruising through their regular season schedules, both J.P. McCaskey and York High’s boys teams capture league titles on the court tonight. The Red Tornado fall behind Cedar Crest 23-21 at halftime before opening up a big lead in the second half to win 62-41. They capture their sixth Lancaster-Lebanon League title in the past nine years, 13th overall. They enter next week’s district basketball tournament as the number 2 seed in “AAAA.”
The Bearcats were perfect in York-Adams play this season and didn’t really struggle at all in the league tournament. York defeats South Western 57-44 in front of a packed house at York College to go back to back in the York-Adams. They beat the Mustangs in last year’s championship as well. York is the number three seed at districts and could end up facing J.P. McCaskey in the semifinal round.
