Penn State University’s bill for legal fees, consultants and other costs associated with the Jerry Sandusky sex abuse scandal now stands at more than 27 million dollars. That includes 13 million for the internal investgation by former FBI director Louis Freeh. Sandusky, a former Penn State assistant football coach is serving 30 to 60 years in prison for child sex abuse. The 27 million dollars of costs does not include the first of five 12 million dollar annual installments to cover the fine handed down by the NCAA.

That's ridiculous. $27M for what? It's hard to distinguish which one is the criminal here (I believe Sandusky is guilty as the day is long). He certainly didn't get his money's worth!

Ridiculous, yes. Money's worth, no. When PA stops thinking about football and money and starts thinking about education, things might get better. PA won't and PSU won't and Happy Valley will continue to be just that; a delusion.

I am beginning to think that NO ONE on the BOT @ PSU or PSU President Rodney Erickson have one iota of common sense. 27M in costs thus far for the Sandusky scandal. The fact that 13M of that amount was paid to Louis Freeh for his internal investigation is absolutely ridiculous! AND none of the victims have received settlement, which means that 27M is only the tip of the iceberg. AND, Curley, Schultz and Spanier haven't had their days in court. Seems there has been a huge rush to judgment as well as a rush to put this all behind PSU, and in the process, a number of unwise decisions have been made. Yes, in my humble opinion, there is no common sense involved in the situation at all. Guess all that knowledge and learning has pushed the common sense right out of their brain boxes.
