A borough in Lancaster County is being recognized as America’s ‘coolest small town’. After the votes were tallied on Friday–Lititz beat out 924 other nominees to take top honors for Budget Travel’s online contest.
Lititz was founded in 1742 by a Moravian community.
Best known for the Wilbur Chocolate Factory, the Julius Sturgis Pretzel Bakery, and Keystone Pretzels-- the picturesque borough earned bragging rights after being named number one!
Aside from the chocolate and pretzels, Lititz is also home to Linden Hall, the oldest all girls’ boarding school in the United States.
Other ‘coolest small town’ contenders’ included Quincy, California; Watkins Glen, New York; and Shepherdstown, West Virginia.
