Five people are out of their homes Saturday after a fast moving fire damaged a Lancaster City apartment building. Flames broke out around 7 a.m. along the 500 block of North Queen Street. A man was injured when he attempted to put out the fire on his own, investigators said. He was taken to Lancaster General Hospital for smoke inhalation.
A space heater on the first-floor is what sparked the fire.
There were no working smoke detectors inside.
The Red Cross is assisting the residents.
