The Jeep company says its Twitter account was hacked by what appears to be the same hackers responsible for Monday’s takeover of Burger King’s Twitter. The hackers tweeted that Jeep had been sold to Cadillac and followed that with obscene messages. Monday, hackers tweeted that McDonald’s bought Burger King. Neither post is true.
Jeep spokesman Todd Goyer said in an email: “We’re aware of the issue and are working to resolve it as quickly as possible.”
General Motors, the maker of Cadillac, says it had nothing to do with the hacking of the Jeep account. It’s unclear whose behind the attacks.
